When You Work With Me You’ll Be Reaching
Your Goals In 5 Simple Steps

Step 1.  Visualization

What exactly do you want in life?

We’ll work together to make sure that we develop a clear picture of the things you want to achieve, not just regarding your professional ambitions but in your personal life too. You may already have a clear idea of where you’d like to take your business, but even if you don’t, we’ll figure it out together and arrive at a plan of exactly what you want, down to the last detail.

Step 2.  Exploration

We’ll be exploring all of the options that lay before you, some that you know already and others that will come out of the blue.

We‘ll put our heads together, brainstorm, and scope out ideas that you can see as practical and achievable for you.

Step 3. Goals!

Yes, goals.  The success secret of the rich.  You’ve no doubt heard about the power of goal-setting, you may have even tried it at one point.  Now we’re going to really make it happen.

We’ll set them, analyze them, and work out steps to achieve them in real time, not in some far off dream-world.

Step 4.  Action!

This is the key to success in any endeavor.  It’s what separates the outrageously successful from the perennial underachievers.  Maybe you thought that talent and creativity are what separates them, but you’d be wrong.  It’s always action.

We’ll sort through which actions you need to take and when to take them to achieve the goals we set back in Step 3, and to achieve your vision for a better life and a better business.

Step 5 – YOU REACH YOUR GOALS!

People who work with me develop a crystal clear idea of what they truly want in life and in business.

You’ll be the same way.  I will help you focus and direct you through the research process, see what is realistic and workable, and then create your plan with very specific goals.

With me you’ll have a support system, a sounding board and a cheering section.  I’ll encourage you through setbacks, hold you accountable to your promises and will be first in line to celebrate your victories.

Then, when you’re ready, I’ll challenge you to take bigger calculated risks, make bigger plans and set bolder goals for the very exciting, very lucrative future that lies ahead.

PHOTOGRAPHERS AND ILLUSTRATORS PROGRAM

I have worked with so many photographers and illustrators in the USA and the UK, and I have found that artists at all levels of success can still feel insecure and lacking in confidence about to how to present their portfolio, their website and themselves.

Some of the more common questions I am asked include:

How many images on my website? And in my portfolio?
Can I have more than one theme?
Should I show commissioned work?
Should I show printed commissioned images or just the digital versions?
What size?
Can I show the same folio to editorial buyers as well as advertising buyers?
Should I try to see art directors as well as art buyers?
What exactly does an art buyer do?
How is this different to an art director?
What is a project manager? A head of Art? And a Creative Director?

Some feel nervous about calling to make an appointment and ask another set of questions:
Should I leave a message on voicemail asking for an appointment?
What should I expect when I turn up?
Do I leave a card? How often can I revisit that person? How do I follow up?
Will I be taken seriously if I don’t have an agent/rep?
Should I put some images into stock libraries or will this stop me from being taken seriously as an artist?
Should I have exhibitions? How important is it to show personal work? Whom do I send my bid/estimate to?

And above all the most commonly question asked is:
How can I get better more creative commissions and command higher fees? (Many artists fund pro-bono work, personal work and exhibitions through their advertising and editorial work.)

LIFE COACHING INVESTMENT

Click here to email me if you feel that you’d be a good fit for my coaching program. I will outline details of fees at that stage, and then propose an initial 30 minute call for you to evaluate whether you wish to proceed. This first call is free of charge and carries no obligation to continue.

Life coaching is a commitment, and only works if you are prepared to invest in making a minimum of one monthly session for six months.

My sessions can be either in person or via telephone, and for non-US clients, I am geared up for receiving calls through Skype.

OTHER SERVICES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

My whole objective is to guide photographers and illustrators to find the strengths in their work. Once we have established that, we can then target appropriate audiences and opportunities (anything from advertising, design, editorial, to book covers, exhibitions, prints).

I have conducted portfolio reviews at agencies in London such as JWT, Saatchis, TBWA, St Lukes, FCB, CDP, DDB, and for four years I held regular surgeries at The Association of Illlustrators and The Association of Photographers.

I coach and advise artists on how and where to market their work. I conduct my business mainly on the telephone, reviewing websites, promo work, and prints online. I help artists choose and prepare their portfolios for agency meetings, and bring my expertise as a buyer to help artists create stunning and memorable self-promotion pieces.

I am available for consultation for photographers and illustrators on these sorts of career issues, when a full life-coaching service is not required.

SOURCING PHOTOGRAPHY

With 25 years experience as an art buyer, I have an extraordinary track-record with advertising agencies and design groups sourcing the very best talent for a job. I am available for occasional freelance projects for agencies and clients who are interested in the very best art-buying for their work.
